A group of our volunteers arrived at the start very early and excited. Some of them have never been in a croc, some of them have never hiked before and most of them have never abseiled before.

The first event was the hiking. We were given a map and told to find our own way. Luckily we had some expert navigators with us – but at certain stages we did have our doubts.

We were one jolly group when we all got to the start of our next event – the river rafting. After being briefed, we all grabbed a partner and off we went. Even though some of the volunteers struggled and kept on rowing in circles, we all had fun.

Then it was time for last event: The abseiling. Even though some of us were petrified, every one of us was elated once down.

It was such a fantastic, adventurous day that we all decided that it must be an annual event.
